Thomas Agesen, MD
Thomas Agesen, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatry), as well as sports medicine. Currently working with patients throughout the tri-state area at New Jersey Regenerative Institute in Parsippany, New Jersey, Dr. Agesen has been in practice for nearly 22 years.
After graduating from Penn State University in 1991 with a bachelor of science in finance, Dr. Agesen went on to earn his medical doctorate from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1997. Passionate about education, Dr. Agesen even earned the prestigious title of Chief Resident during his residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He later completed a sports and spine fellowship in nonoperative sports injury treatments under his mentor, Dr. Gerard Malanga, at the Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation UMDNJ.
Dr. Agesen has a wide range of clinical interests, including sports medicine, electrodiagnostics, and the treatment of acute and chronic tendon, ligament, back, and joint disorders. Along with his partner, Dr. Jay E. Bowen, Dr. Agesen serves as the team physician for several local high schools and universities in the New Jersey area. He treats athletes of all ages and levels, ensuring they remain at the top of their game.
